The Thunder DC to DC Converter Product Family

AMPS Thunder family of low-power, high-voltage low-power DC to DC converters offer proportional, regulated, isolated high voltage low power output, encapsulated in high thermal conductivity epoxy resin for use in harsh environmental environments. These single output devices are available in a variety of input ranging from 3.3, 5, 12, or 24VDC inputs up to 5000VDC outputs at 2.0W. Output Voltages (Vout) range from 500 volts to 5000 volts.
AMPS will also offer custom designs for high volume applications.

A division of Artificial Muscle, Inc., AMI Electronics has provided high-voltage products to a broad spectrum of aerospace, automotive, medical, consumer electronics, and other Fortune 500 companies and international academic and research institutions since 2004. AMI’s corporate heritage traces itself back to a number of DARPA projects in the early 1990's. This agreement will make it much easier for customers, other than customers of AMI’s Electroactive Polymer products, to purchase AMI’s patented high-voltage electronic components separately.

Press Release 2008-1: AM Power Systems introduces a 200 watt DC-DC converter that has a variable input range of 11-16 VDC and a fixed output voltage of 24 VDC to the LIGHTNING Series of products.

A compact 200 watt DC-DC converter with a variable input voltage (Vin) from 11volts to 15 volts and a fixed 24 volt output (Vout). This high power DC-DC converter was designed for the medical industry. The wide input voltage range and the high efficiency factor makes this a prime power conversion device for new designs needed for industrial temperature range equipment. Housing is a chassis mountable, metal case to reduce RFI/EMI interference.

Press Release 2008-2: AM Power Systems introduces an additional Lightning family of compact, very low power, high output voltage DC-DC converters. With a variable input voltage ranging from 3 to 5.5 volts the single outputs are 500V, 600V, 800V, 1KV and 1.2KV. Applications include hand held test and measurement equipment. Package has a metal can to reduce EMI and RFI issues.

These are all with a positive output voltage. Semi-customs with negative output voltages or variable output voltages are possible. Please contact factory for more information.

Press Release 2008-4: AM Power Systems introduces a family of compact, low power, variable input voltages, dual output voltage DC-DC converters called the CYCLONE Series. Products have one variable negative output voltage (Vout1) and one fixed or variable positive output voltage (Vout2). Customer specific products requiring two outputs with fixed and /or variable outputs may also be possible. Contact factory for more details.

ULTRA-LOW Power DC-DC Converter w/Variable Input (3-5V) and w/Dual HI-Voltage Outputs

- AM60v120-RCM - Vout1 of -600V (w/Control Pin#1 adjustment) and Vout2 of +1.2KV (fixed)
- AM60v120v-RCM - Vout1 of -600V (w/Control Pin#1 adjustment) and Vout2 of +1.2KV (w/Control Pin#2 adjustment)

The AM60v120-CM and AM60v120v-CM are ultra-low power, multiple output, high voltage DC-DC converters with the input voltage (Vin) range being 3.0 to 5.0 volts and the two output voltages (Vout) being -600V and +1,200V. Applications include photo-multiplier applications as with radiation detection, industrial control verification, medical imaging or other Homeland Security detection equipment. With the latest in PWM integrated circuit (IC) design, these high efficiency parts have an output ripple less than 1%.
